I love Positive Psychology!
I’m Mirella, a Psychologist who has always been keen to build bridges between research and practice. For many years I did that in the field of intercultural competence training — developing educational concepts and formats to work with people who need orientation and tools to be effective in cross-cultural settings.
It’s fun and rewarding to see how implementing research findings and theories from Cultural Psychology would help people to master culturally diverse and challenging situations!
Positive Psychology is the overarching scientific field, researching the factors which allow us to flourish in life. After specializing in this sub-discipline of Psychology, I love “translating” all these recent research findings about how to live a good life into actionable steps.
My goal for doing this is to enable as many people as possible to profit from the scientific insights we already have.
“Probably the biggest insight is that happiness is not just a place, but also a process. Happiness is an ongoing process of fresh challenges and . . . it takes the right attitudes and activities to continue to be happy.”
Martin Seligman, one of the founding members of Positive Psychology, speaks about how we can widen our focus beyond healing disorders and gives some answeres to how to live a fulfilling life.
